Every school offers a primary level for Chinese-learning, which teaches students of basic pronunciation and understanding of Chinese characters for beginners with no prior Chinese language abilities. With all students of similar levels of Chinese language abilities, the teacher would make use of body-language and gestures during the classes, and speaks English during classes. However, if you are not sure about which level your abilities are of, we recommend you to conduct preparatory researches into the different courses available to choose the most appropriate programs for you. Our team can also provide recommendation for Chinese-learning materials and online courses for you if required.

For most schools, they provide either one-on-one teaching or group teaching of approximately 5-20 students per class. The former makes you the sole center of the teaching, allowing greater flexibility and freedom in the timetable and teaching material of the lessons; While the latter follows a much stricter structure of teaching. Apart from that, you may also choose to focus on Business Conversation, or for improving pronunciation, or even choose to tailor the teaching sessions for preparation for the HSK Chinese Test. With fixed dates for the start and end of term, group teaching of the different schools may differ both in length and in content. We highly recommend students to start the course as according to the start date of the program as you will have no trouble catching up, and allowing plenty of time and space for personal improvement or even changing the program if you found it unsuitable. The program usually starts with introductory sessions, and covers two to three units per session. Each session consists of scripting practices of the Chinese characters, vocabulary and grammar teaching, etc.

The content of all one-on-one lessons can be completely customized, and you can even specify how long you want the lessons to be per day, and at what time. Lessons can even be arranged during the weekend. If you have any other special requirements, such as if you need an English-speaking teacher or Chinese-teaching in any other languages, limitations might apply for the availability of the teacher.

Usually, the subsidiary Language School of the University are open for application every semester. Before the start of the programs, students are to take a test of their stated levels and then divided into in the different classes according to their Chinese language abilities, which will then confirm the different start dates of the classes. Some of the schools would still accept applications in the middle of the semester, but it is important to note that you might experience difficulties in catching up to the progress of the class.

The length of the program is dependent on the different individual courses, and may vary as according to the different programs. Group teaching classes usually start within the first week of the month. One-on-one classes would have a much greater flexibility for start date.

If you are on an one-on-one course, you can pick your own teaching material (either Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese) according to your own preferences.

The teachers are all Taiwanese, so they would mostly be teaching in Chinese. However, the teachers of beginners’ lessons would use English to better sustain their teaching.

Some of the schools would conduct interviews before the pre-test regarding simple Chinese conversational skills and listening abilities of the students. The pre-test should consist of two parts: grammar and vocabulary; and should last around 10-20 minutes. You do not need to prepare for the test beforehand. If you find the course to be of another level different from your own, you can ask for a change of program within one week of the start date.

The price of our one-stop service include tuition fees, purchase of course materials, airport pickup expenses, consultation charges, introductory guidance fees and service charges. If you are renting our en-suite accommodation, the electricity bill of your stay will also be added within the charges for your combo plan, and that should only be calculated after you move out of the place. If you are staying at any other type of accommodation (such as school accommodation, home-stay, etc.), the electricity bill would not be included within the combo plan. The combo plan is definitely of a cheaper price as compared to that of the individual services alone. Due to fluctuations and difference in accommodation methods, programs and currency exchange rates, we are unable to provide you with the individual pricing.

For the short-term courses that last up to three months, please contact us at least a month before the start date of the program so that we are able to file in your application in time. If you are applying for one-on-one programs, we can complete your application and preparation for your arrival within three weeks’ time. For Language Schools at Universities such as National Taiwan University and National Taiwan Normal University, there are usually four semesters per academic year. Some of the schools would immediately stop admitting new students once the limit for enrolled students has been reached, so it is safest to complete your application at least a month before the start date of the courses.

You must arrive at Taiwan before the start date of your course. For some nationalities, you get to have 30 days after your arrival at Taiwan before you are required to have a valid Visa. If that does not include your nationality, you must have successfully applied for your Taiwan Visa before coming to Taiwan. After the semester is finished, you can continue to stay at Taiwan as according to the regulations of the Visa, but the price for your accommodation might increase once the contract has expired.

During your application, you will not be asked to make yet another payment. After the application of the schools, we will send you a leaflet regarding your study-abroad information at Taiwan alongside an Invoice, which will list clearly the different service charges and such. Please make a payment accordingly either through remittance or by credit card. Some of the courses and accommodation methods ask for a deposit before the start of your course/stay with them, in those cases, you will have to pay the deposit prior to the start date of your course/stay.

If you are to cancel the course/method of accommodation after your successful application, please let us know as soon as possible. We will help you to cancel accordingly, and return the amount of money paid deducting our service charges for the application. Please note that for some schools/methods of accommodation, you will not be paid back for cancelling after your payment.

For most cases, one semester at the Language Schools of the Universities are three-month of length. If you wish to stay at Taiwan for more than two semesters (6-months), please apply for a long-term residence Visa or Working Holiday Visa before coming to Taiwan. We will then assist your application for a Visa extension, Alien Residence Certificate or any other relevant documents after your arrival.

We can provide guidance for your writing of your CV, but cannot apply for a job in your place. To work at Taiwan, it is best and easier for you to have stayed at Taiwan for a certain period of time and possess an adequate level of Mandarin abilities.

One of the services as included in our one-stop combo is helping you purchase a sim-card at Taiwan. By doing so, you will have successfully applied for a Taiwanese mobile number. Please note that foreigners are unable to pay monthly at Taiwan, so you will have to pay-as-you-go. You will then be able to make international phone-calls, and also purchase data plans so that you can link online, but the fees for international phone-calls might be pricy.

For home-stay, the family usually provide bedding materials, pillows, duvet, desk, wardrobe, network (mostly WiFi), air-conditioner for you. You are encouraged to bring your own laptop if you are staying at a home-stay accommodation as there will be no shared PC in the house, unlike the case at school accommodations. If you are staying at school accommodation, they would usually provide you with both an air-conditioner and a TV, the same applied for single suites and guest-houses. Please note that for some school accommodations, they have a shared launderette and kitchen.
